Episode 15: The Mother Load

Ho boy, it happened again didn’t it?  Yup, really long episode to cover a large amount of content.  You guessed it folks, solid rumors and PDF’s about Warhammer 40k 6th edition are flying around the internet and we’re here to talk it all up.  There’s so much to discuss in fact that we have to go without our usual Rules of Engagement and the show is still over 3 hours!  We also bring back friend of the show Andy to discuss what has changed since Episode 4 when we first brought you these rumors.  Oh, and on top of all of that … the Necron FAQ dropped!

Plus don’t forget the usual great content including news and rumors …

Apparently Beasts of War has a “source” from GW that says this is a very early set of rules. But, a few things have not made the cut, like: 1. The Turn sequence will remain as it is (Move/Shoot/Assault) 2. Evasion did NOT make the cut

Here is a link to dakkadakka (you can probably see article on Beast of War too):

    Interesting stuff! Changing every day…

Well now, that is interesting news. I’m sure Bill is happy to hear that as he wasn’t a fan of the evasion thing in the first place.

Hi, I just discovered this podcast, it’s really good. I especially like how you do the battle reports.

Listening to your coverage of the ‘leak’ a couple of things popped to mind.
First the beasts of war news (but you probably recorded this before that came out)
Then you said how similar this was to the rumors you went over in episode 4 (in July). The document in question is dated May, so this document is probably the source of those rumors.
Finally (on a “I made that mistake too” note) The dreadnought close combat weapon is not strength 25 it is 2S (S as in Strength) It took me seeing that in 3 places before I realized I was mis-read it.

Thanks Frank, we are glad you like it.

Wow, those DCCW stats make so much more sense! I can’t believe i never realized it was an S and not a 5! And yeah, we did record the podcast a few days before it was posted, as the battle reports take a bit to edit as you can guess. I saw the Beasts of War post the day it went up and thought… of course this got posted the same day we post our podcast.

I am very happy to see that the turn sequence will supposedly stay how it is now. Though I hope some of the other rules make it into the final version like Reserves, cover being 5+ and Hull Breach.

Hello guys, I recently listened to your show and I really like what you are doing and how you do it. The battle report/audio drama that you do is sensational. So cheers from the Overlords!
