You were joking about the Fortress of Solitude. I can see a Fortress of Solitude made out of green crystal for Necrons. It would make for a nice center piece.

Yeah, for the first week or 2 we were playing the incorrect way. We did re-examine it and start playing the way you describe a few days before we recorded the podcast. We kinda went on about it because we still met a lot of people that played incorrectly. Things have gone smoother since then.

Hi Thorhammer, thanks for the comment! You are entirely correct and that is exactly how we play the rule, though it's quite possilbe that we didn't make that clear in the podcast so thank you for taking the time to do so here. We love contributions like this!

You guys seem a little confused by look out sir rules. I think te issue with the Internet is that people are looking at this rule outside the context of the greater rule book.

There are two methods of wound allocation. 1 if the unit is taking the same saves against the attacks, ie a tac squad + sgt saving against bolster fire, and 1 for mixed save units, ie a wolf guard terminator in a squad of grey hunters.

In the 1st case, you roll all your saves and then allocate unsaved wounds, at which point the sgt gets to use look out sir to move unsaved wounds he would take due to normal wound allocation procedures (nearest to furthest)

In the second method, since the wolf guards save is better than the grey hunters, you have to look out sir and then take the saves

Hope that clears things up, great podcast

Thanks!!

Hey there guys, great reivew and very good suggestions. I had fun running the tournament, but as you have seen first hand, it was quite an undertaking and didn't exactly go as smoothly as I had hoped.

All that said, there were some errors in the rules packets I did not detect until they were printed, so I just rolled with it. Armies on Parade was a huge hit and many folks commented how much they missed it, so it will be back for certain.

We will also make sure that any more "special" missions undergo more play-testing before we spring them on people. Safe to say the swapping/traitor mission will NOT be featured next year. LOL.

We will be hosting BSA4 in the same venue, that worked out very well, and we've learned some crucial lessons this year that should cut time down by at least 2 hours if not more. I'm also looking to add 15 minutes of set up time, thus giving 15 minutes to set up and 90 minutes to play for a total of 1hr, 45 min for rounds, which will buy the admin time but not distract from the overall event hopefully, balancing out our time issues.

The biggest thing for us is to see what happens in 6th edition and we will give some of our changes a trail run December 8, 2012 at the Berks Four Diamonds Winter Blast, a fund raiser for Pediatric Cancer, 40K style.

Oh and one more comment, as for the table awards, our judges voted on what table/theme they liked the best. Berks-owned/operated tables were exempt from this competition, or one of them would have won over "candy land". We wanted to offer the award as a 'thank you' for each club, and each of those club members also received bonus raffle tickets just for helping us out.
